Very beautiful bike ride along the lake

I rode with my friend this morning along the lakefront. I was able to get a lot of mileage done in a short time. The weather was absolutely wonderful! I could not ask for anything better than this. I was able to complete my 24.59 mile ride in 1:58:14 (4:46/mi). I plan to go long bike rides like my previous long runs in preparation of a bike event I plan to do later this summer and into the fall.

Riding thru Bad News

On Wednesday, I finally found my fate for this fall with attending law school. Well, my fate became sealed in a thin envelope. Yes, law school is NOT going to happen this year.

After this bad news and then a very rough day at work, I went out for a long bike ride along the lakefront. My agenda was 8 miles, but I ended up with 14.4 miles because I wanted to keep going. I never though that bad news would encourage awesome mile splits.

Another Lakefront Bike Front....

....but I forgot my Garmin with me on my bike and that's OKAY! I did an awesome ride without it. I was able to do a previous bike ride of 8.01 miles at a faster pace than before. I was able to complete my bike ride in approximately 34 minutes at an average pace of 4:14/mi - even after battling resistance from the cool winds from both direction. I will get another chance to ride this week on Thursday. Still planning my lakefront route for that trip.

Awesome Lakefront Bike Ride

10.16 miles in 45:45. I was another great bike ride. I had to deal with some strong wind after I turned around. I almost made 17 mph, but I will save it for another bike ride.

Firefly's AWESOME ride!

My awesome ride! 10.32 miles in less than 54 minutes along the lakeshore. Sweeeeeeet! This Firefly REALLY knows how to FLY! But I do NOT recommend mixing this up with 3 hours of walking in brand-new orthotics. BAD Firefly!
