Last run before LONG run - DONE!

You follow desire, and you are not satisfied.
Again you follow desire, and again you are not satisfied.
Again you try, and again you are not satisfied.

-Lama Zopa Rinpoche, "Transforming Problems Into Happiness"

What do I desire?

Right now, I desire being able to finish my taper without any more plantar fascitis pain in my LEFT FOOT. I have rolled with my favorite miracle foot ball, but it has been BEGGING and PLEADING for some Advil and Ice. Nothing else. Well, a day's rest from running so I can get my 10 miler done on Sunday morning.

I got through a 40 minute run on the treadmill. I survived. Now I can REST!

Running Monday

Today's run was a slightly chilly one. My agenda was to get an easy 30 minute run. It felt great! Josh and I needed to go to our storage locker after my run so I included it in the path from our apartment. It was a great way to get two things done. I even got a great treat after my run. Mile 1 - 9:19
Mile 2 - 9:09
Mile 3 - 9:02
Mile 0.28 - 2:32 (9:00/mi)
Avg Pace - 9:09/mi

Easy run day

Today was an easy 35 minute run day for me. I have a huge long run this weekend and need to keep my legs loose. The weather looks so nasty today so I brought my run onto the treadmill. It was a good run at a consistant pace.

Still waiting to hear back from the interview.

Today's a beautiful day. I got my 30 minute run done. I struggled to keep a steady pace, but still maintained negative splits. I had the wind against me in the first half of my run.

Mile 1 - 9:31
Mile 2 - 9:35
Mile 3 - 9:24
Mile 0.16 - 1:29 (9:32/mi)
Avg Pace - 9:30/mi

Running with a Cast

Well, after a much smoother night sleeping, I had a lower amount of pain. I ate a great breakfast before I made an attempt to do my 35 minute run. I ran outside at a good window of opportunity. The weather was in the 60's and sunny. It was perfect! I then put my running gear and Garmin on before I went outside.

I struggled a little bit during my run mostly due to the very strong wind I ran against. It slowly easier when I turned around away from the wind. In the end, I was happy to finish.

Mile 1 - 9:23
Mile 2 - 9:29
Mile 3 - 9:28
Mile 0.67 - 6:37 (9:56/mi)

My arm felt a little sore after the run. This is mostly due my arm adjusting to the cast. As for my arm, many of you asked for the cause of the injury. Right now, I do not know how I did it. I am still trying for figure it out. Now I have to wear this cast for three weeks. Two days down now.

I am determined to get my 8 miler tommorow. I can work around the injury and work hard. Nothing scares me! I am strong!
