A whole lot of celebration going on

I am celebrating right now because the Colorado Avs won the first round of playoffs against the Minnesota Wild. We have one of my favorite players back, which makes it sweeter. I have been ver quiet about my sports teams lately, but needed share in my celebration. It has been 5 years since these two teams played together (and lost last time too.)

I can not celebrate too loud because I have very, very bad feeling that we are playing the Detroit Red Wings in the 2nd round - a very bad thing, but could be a very fun thing with one of my friends.

Bring out an important person in my life....

...and having been waiting a long time to do it too. Some may be already aware. Some many not be so aware. I am going to come out anyway with this. There has been an important person in my life that has helped through this difficult time over the last three months. Many of you may know him already as another blogger and as one of my best friends. What you may not know or have been aware is that there's another level we share together and have tried to keep hidden from the blogger world........until this morning. **ahem** (drum roll PLEASE!) I would like to introduce Josh as......... **taking a sip of water** Okay....um...wait a second. DO NOT MOVE your mouses...YET! (and I know you will just to get through this stalling part. No CURSING is allowed!) **taking another sip of water** **heading to the bathroom** **walking back to the computer** **taking another sip of water** ......my BOYFRIEND. (Now was that SO hard to wait? Geeez! What language you use!) Now all of you are going to wonder HOW this came all about. Well, I have written this little (okay - not so little) poem about all of it. I started writing this when I was flying back from Phoenix and even finished it at around 2 a.m. about a week before this post was written. Enjoy! Love is one big mystery You have helped me solve the clues that come with it. Nothing written was posh Because I love you, Josh! Additional note: I ate more crow last night - leftovers from Saturday night - after my Avs LOST the Red Wings. Now I just have to wait until I get what is coming to me from my friend, Chris. I had the damn peanut gallery (my ex and my son) helping Chris out instead of ME. One can not get help you need it. Geez! I thought blood was supposed to be thicker than HOCKEY! More to continue....

I am going to be eating ALOT of crow today...

...after my Buffs LOST to the Kansas Jayhawks. The loss was not too bad, but still bad enough. I guess that teaches me a lesson to keep my mouth shut about other teams....until AFTER the games. In fact, this weekend is a huge weekend of rivalries. Tommorow will be my third and final games during the month of January to seal the deal with my friend, Chris, and his Red Wings. Hopefully he will nice, if I lose, and not have to run in the snow especially with my knee right now. But I am hoping to win anyway. We can not get together tommorow afternoon anyway because he works at a VERY nice hotel as the general manager and has VIP's checking in (the Phoenix Suns to be exact), which he needs to be tending to. It is very understandable, but he's aware that he still have a bet to tend to as well. He's a very busy guy at times, but loves hockey season because of these awesome bets. Right now, I am still taking it easy. It is getting easier to sit still because of the colder weather, which is NOT fun for running in. I just hope that this cold snap ends before my next trip to Chicago in two weeks. I do not want to be walking in the cold and prefer something a little bit more warmer. I also hope that the knee gets better so I can be able to do that as well. That's all for now.

Pray for the Avs.....PLEASE!!

My Avs, who are an on and off swing this season, are playing the nasty Red Wings tonight. I hope they win tonight because I am on another bet series with my friend, Chris. The Red Wings won the first game of this 3 games series in January. It's a best of three and tonight's game may a lose tonight or play one more game to see who wins on next Sunday. I can not lose because my friend has a HUGE comeback especially after the last loss back in September. I am afraid that I might end up running in the cold in my skimpies or something horrible as revenage. Please send positive thought to my Avs. I know that Jenn will have to agree with me that they need to win TONIGHT. They have been doing VERY well against the Wild, but the Red Wings are a touch and go situation now.

Speaking of sports, I LOVE this new picture that I found on a friend's MySpace page (and YES, that's a gopher, people!) I hope to use it more and more next Fall when the MN Gophers play all of the Big 10 teams during football season - including Michigan, Indiana and Ohio State - especially now that we have a new head coach.

Going onto the topic of college sports, I just would like to play my tiny violin to my fellow blogger friends who are Kansas Jayhawks fans who's team LOST to Texas Tech by 5 points. While I am NOT happy with my Buffs' performance this year and gearing up for the Valentine's Day showdown with Kansas, I am also on the huge bandwagon with my Air Force Falcon who won again today and ranked #13 in the polls (at least today - maybe higher after Sunday). It will be my only opportunity this season (or many more...hmmmm) to do this so it does not hurt to have a little fun and humor with it. Right? But I need to watch my back too since I will visiting Chi-town in less than 3 weeks.

Well, I need to vent a little bit before I end this post. I am SO frustrated with the company that took the race picture this year. I received the notification today, but only to find out that there's NO pictures of me AT ALL with my race number or at least FOUND. Goddamnit!! I e-mailed the company to get an explanation of this and ask them to keep looking through the pictures. Hell, I had the race number on my LEG so it could not be hidden at all if I decided to put my jacket around my waist. But the good news is HOPEFULLY I will get a digital copy of my race finish and make LOTS of copies so people can put it on their DVD players at home. I payed $15 for it to be sent to me. **sigh** I just want my pictures! UGHHHHHH!

NOW the Vikings REALLY SUCK!

Now I am very frustrated as a fan with my team. They have lost FOUR in a row and it's getting worse. The beginning of the game was not so bad, but the fourth quarter was going downhill....very fast. I had to turn the game off very quickly....and kringe to see the final score.

On the other side I am VERY happy because my Avs WON again against the Wild 2 - 1. It was a bittersweat victory for me. Two more games before the end of the season......if they do not play each other again in the playoffs. **grin**

Along with that, my friend, Chris's band - Hazen - did VERY well last night. They did so well that reached the semi-final round of the battle of the bands. To reward them for the awesome performance, they get 2 songs listed on the Progression Through Music Compilation CD + 50 CD’s , 5 hours studio time , 1 hour photo shoot + 18x24 Color Glossy Band Photo, Interview & picture gallery on the website.

Since they made it to the Semi-Finals which is scheduled for early-January (hmm....I will have to really think of a trip for that), they also receive Progression Through Music T-Shirts with their name on them. Every band that sells 30 tickets for the Semi Finals gets a 15 ticket bonus ($150), every band that sells 50 tickets gets a 50 ticket bonus ($500). Bands are welcome to sell the tickets for a profit or give the tickets away! I am SO proud of him and his band. They have spent a lot of hours in the studio during the past month, which has made it hard to talk to him before my trip and even during the trip. This is their FIRST big gig. We truly ROCK! Way to go, guys!

Well, I did not get a chance to workout today. I slept in a way too late this morning. I will have to REALLY squeeze it in tommorow definitely.
