Let's Recover and Give Me 3

I enjoyed a very nice morning to do a recovery 3 miler. The weather is finally starting to cool down and not feel like I am walking around in hell's sauna. I started my run a little bit later instead at the butt-crack-of-dawn for the first time since May. I was not concerned about the temperatures since the humidity was at a very comfortable rate. As I ran, it was nice to enjoy the scenary of the Salt Creek Trail. I enjoyed the sounds and smells of the trail. Once I finished my run, I felt really good about what I accomplished and walked it off in order to cool down.

Things have slowed down a bit now that Josh's back to work. It's nice to have the alone time right now so re-center myself and be ready for the next step.

Let us return to our regular outdoor running...

...starting today.

It was a great run. The weather was finally not beating me down and making my totally uncomfortable. I had much lower humidity. I loved it! It was my 1st non-treadmill run in my new Saucony Kinvanas. They felt like butter as I started to run. I made sure that I didn't come out too fast in the 1st mile, but really let the house out of the stable afterwards. My legs felt great 'cept for a slight left calf soreness. I was able to pass Josh up and finish stronger at an awesome mile split. My run was just perfect!

Recovery 3 mile

It was an awesome recovery run this morning. The air felt very nice and cool even though it was a little humid from the morning fog. It was so humid that the sweat on my back was visibily evaporating off. I felt really good during my run. It was also nice to have a deer greeting me at the start of my run. I am looking forward to another run tomorrow morning.

4 miles of Recovery

After a weekend of high humidity and heat, it was very nice to run in much cooler and pleasant weather conditions. The wind really felt nice and kept me cool. I was originally scheduled to run 5 miles, but I had to make a quick decision to cut my mileage down to 4 miles when my quad muscles were still very sore. I did not want to increase my chances for a serious injury. Once I was finished with my run, I picked up a post-run smoothie and then headed home to ice and stretch my muscles. I hope to feel better to run tomorrow.

Recovery Run Monday

Well, today's an easy run day. My legs are a little bit sore from the race. I had a nice appointment with my chiropractor. I ran for 30 minute on the treadmill due to the rain we received.

I have one more day with the cast on. I have an appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon tommorow. I can not wait to get the cast off because it has been very annoying.

A Good/Bad Run

The weather today made for another great day for a outdoor run. I had to finish my weekend at work. It was a lot quieter day compared to yesterday. The running paths along the lake was NOT quieter at all. It was jammed packed with people. I took another path today so I can have a change of scenery.

Unfortunately, my acid-relux decided to kick in today during the first mile of my run. I am not going to be give TMI, but I did not want to get a quick second taste of my lunch. Yuck! I was able to through the run even with the slight discomfort from my stomach. It really made me slow down a little bit and keep my pace at a decent level. In fact, it was very hard to keep it at a 9:30/mile pace. My legs wanted to go faster, but I had to mentally remind myself that this is a recovery/slow run. It was made it a very challenging run.

Mile 1 - 9:13
Mile 2 - 9:34
Mile 3 - 9:34
Mile 0.18 - 1:39 (9:22/mile)
Avg Pace - 9:27/mile
