Bring on Race Jitters

Tomorrow's my BIG DAY! With it, it comes with the race jitters....and lots of them. I just want to do very well. Here are my goals for the race:
  • PLAN A - Hit a sub-1:50 to earn a preferred corral for the Chicago Marathon
  • PLAN B - Go sub-2:00 HM and smash my previous HM PR
  • PLAN C - Just beat my previous HM PR
I am strongly hoping for PLAN A in the morning. Now I am heading to bed since I have a 4 AM wake up call.

Got a race TOMMMOROW

And YES, the pre-race jitters has kicked in. I have taken it easy this week, but still kept up with the training. I went to the expo yesterday afternoon and had the opportunity to meet John "The Penguin" Bingham and Jenny Hatfield. I wish I had my camera with me that day because I really wanted to get a photo op with them. Damn!

After the expo, I went to Josh's office where I waiting for him before heading home. Well, I ended up hanging out with him longer than I thought. I even got an opportunity to finally see his cubicle while he finished up a problem issue for work.

I hope to do well tommorow. The weather is going to kick ass and not hot and humid. Gotta love it! I hope to get reach my goal of finishing and qualifying for the preferred corral. My 2nd goal is to just finish sub-2:00 so I have something to work on for Chicago. I have a big goal for Chicago and want to come very close to it. I have already planned a lot of speedwork after tommorow to work on it more.

Now off to work on stuff for the new house. I hear IKEA calling. :D

Pre-Race Prep Day

Well, I am not running North Shore does not meet that I do not have to do some pre-race prep work. Spectating is a serious work! Josh met me at the bike shop when I dropped my bike off for some tune-up work. We headed to Running Away Multisport to pick my swag bag for the race even though I will not be running. We met our friend, Shea, there since he was coming into town to run North Shore with Josh.

While I was there, I bought myself a new pair of shoes. I was informed by my podiatrist on Tuesday to ditch my Nike Air Structure shoe, which was partially responsible for the PF pain in my left foot. I ended up with a pair of new Saucony Progrid Omni 7. It's my second brand switch, but hopefully it will be worthy switch. When I ran on the treadmill with them, I had NO pain in my left foot. It was heaven on my feet. I actually felt support in my heel, which I really need right now.

After the packet pick-up and shoe shopping, we headed off to the Handlebar Bar & Grill for some good vegan lunch. I ended up having vegan biscuits and gravy with fried plantain and a bloody mary. It was very yummy!

Please wish Josh and Shea good luck tommorow when they run a very warm race tommorow morning. The weather is a little dicey right now so who knows.

Pre-Race Rest Day

Well, today is a pre-race rest day. I am getting ready for the Universal Sole Lakefront 10 mile. I registered for this race at the last minute because I needed a fun way to my 10 mile run done. When I saw this, I was stoked and did not think twice about signing up.

I picked up my race packet this morning after seeing Josh off for his boys-only trip in Milwaukee. I also picked up some stuff to prepare for the race.

I can not wait until I get this when I finish.

And a free glass of beer too from Goose Island too.

I also got some shopping done this afternoon too for my upcoming Graduation trip to Phoenix on Thursday. Gotta love H&M!
