....because this was my last run until the day before North Shore. My PF got really bad again today that I had to cut my run short by 2 miles due to the pain. I even got my foot checked out in my hospital's ER in fear of a stress fracture, which came out negative THANK GOD! I have given orders to stay off of my foot (with some sexy crutches to boot - NOT!) and not to run in order to rest the tendons since my foot was pretty swollen and painful. I need to see my podiatrist again on Monday or Tuesday to see what he wants to do for it.
I don't want another cortisone shot (mostly because of the shot hurts to get in the DAMN first place!), but it might come down to it. I will have to see what my doctor says. Right now, I am continuing to ice my foot in a bucket of ice water and take Advil like it's a religion. I just want my foot better so I run North Shore next Sunday.
I know that it's a slight setback, but I know that I will bounce back. I plan to focus on maintain my endurance through some serious cross-training.
Tommorow - REST DAY!

Mile 2 - 9:07
Mile 3 - 9:35

Hope the foot gets better-those shots are a real b*tch I know. I found your blog through Wes. Stop by mine sometime if you get a chance: www.bensrunningblog.blogspot.com
That sucks! A cortisone shot may be necessary to get you through the half, but then you may need to take a signifigent break.
For somebody with foot issues, you are still running damn fast :-) Get BETTER!!
Be good to yourself, Denise. Follow dr's (and this nurse's) advise and take things nice and easy. I wouldn't even try to talk a fellow runner out of her half mary, so I won't bother. I know how I'd feel...
You'll be fine...rest easy, friend.
I am sorry to hear about your frustration with PF... I hope it gets better soon... and fast.
Ouch, I'm going to take a couple more advil in your honor!!

sorry about the PF :(
Hope the foot is better soon. I'm actually seeing my ex for a massage and look at it tomorrow...he said I could buy him dinner and he'd see what he could do. Seems a fair trade.
