Firefly bummed...

....and it's not about the fact that I am working right now. It's about what HAPPENED at work that I am bummed and a little sadden about. Starting at 7:30 this morning, I watched all of the physicians, residents and nurses work on a patient that coded for almost an hour. Unfortunately, he did not make it. It's just SO sad! I feel for the family who - instead of enjoying this holiday - are now grieving and working out funeral arrangements on a HOLIDAY. That's just not right! I know that's part of the life, but I know for personal experience that deaths on holidays hit HARDER than regular days and weekends. That's why I feel for the family right now because I have been there myself. I said a quick prayer for the patient and his family when I retreated to my office. That's all I can do for now. Happy 4th, everyone! Be safe!

That must have been so hard to see. Hopefully, things get a little better for you as the day goes on!

There is never a good time for death... The problem is the holidays will always bring the memory back. That's kinda going to come with the territory of where you work. Besides one tough cookie :-) you need to bring compassion to the table. I know you can do that.

Sorry to hear about your close calls with the autos. You should bring something to throw :-) Atlanta is Top 3 for pedestrian deaths....

I am so sorry you had to see that, and so sorry of course for the family.

I think you are a tough cookie for being able to work in a place where seeing that kind of thing is inevitable. But I also can see it still hurts.

So sorry:-(

I also say a quick prayer when I hear of someone going through a tough time. Whether I know them or not.
