Pre-Employment Exam DONE....

...'cept for the drug screen (which I know will come clean) and my TB exam on my arm. Not to mention the blood that they drew to test my MMR resistance. Damn needles! The drive after I picked up my rental car was very smooth. I had awesome directions provided by Yahoo.com. I did not get my damn GPS machine as promised, but I did not get charged for it too. The ride in the car on I-90 SUCKED, but once I was on westbound I-290 everything was SMOOTH. I even got there 45 minutes and enough time for breakfast, which I did not eat before leaving out the door. But my sweet boyfriend packed me some grapes and apples in the sandwich bag to eat during the stop and go traffic on I-90 and on all of the lights I hit on Halsted to get to I-90. They did the standard physical exam: hearing, drug screen, vision, breathing (similar to when I go see the allergist for my asthma - nervous about that one!), the 2 minute physical exam by a doctor, and the HUGE stack of paperwork that I had to fill out. Talk about writer's cramp. OWWWW! After I finished my exam, I drove toward back home to pick up Josh. I got stuck in traffic to get back onto I-90. Damn drivers! But I was able to get out of the mess thanks for Josh's assistance. He gave me my first awesome scenic route through Lower Wacker Drive onto Lake Shore Drive. It was most beautiful drive I have done so far in Chicago since I moved here. It was the most perfect day for a drive with a slightly cooler sunny day. I now officially feel at home in Chicago. I can not wait to get a new car, but the transit system will do me just fine for now. The rest of the day was ours with the car. We did some errands with the car before coming home to relax after we returned it. I really needed it because I have been up since 7 am and out the door at 7:45 to catch the bus to the rental facility. The rest of the week now is all mine and plan to enjoy it. 4 days until the Shamrock Shuffle. I look forward to cheering everyone on during the race.....just look for the sign.

Glad to see things are moving along nicely. Welcome to the big city (and its traffic)!! Good luck on finding a car. I take it you put the old one out of its misery...

Congrats on passing the physical and surviving the drawing of blood.

You'll get used to the traffic.  We have more people here on fewer highways than you are used to.  But unlike much of the rest of Chicago, at least the Kennedy Expressway doesn't smell like pee (for the most part).

Your support at the Shamrock is lovingly appreciated.  Let's drink Michelob Ultra together.

Wow, all that AFTER they offered...I would've thought you'd have to do all that BEFORE the move...fun times. And are you sure you'll pass the Drug test, I know things...:) Did you drink enough water?? :)
