Please pray for my car...

...because I really, really need it! So far the cost of the repairs are possibly at least $3000. It turns out that there's MAJOR, MAJOR damage to the piston and cylinders inside of my engine. I need a lot of support and prayers that the extended warranty people pay for this instead of me. My car only has slightly over 75,000 miles and only 5 years old. I have picture of the damage and plan to fight it out if I have to. I am NOT giving up on my car...and the costs to get it fixed. Please show me some mercy! 2 more days until the move...and I know the car will NOT be going with me. I will have to fly back next week and drive it back to Chicago. **sigh** I am stressed out as it is. I don't need to this additional stuff on my plate. UPDATE on the car: It will cost me a minimum of $4500 to get my car back and in working conditions. My extended warranty will not cover it from what the dealer service guy told me. UGH! I left a message with them and the company that made my spark plugs. No luck so far! DOUBLE UGH!! **Note to my good karma: PLEASE COME BACK...now!!

I feel weird praying for a car but i WILL pray for you ;) and that it all works out with that situation. Hang in there soon you'll be looking back on this move as you prop your feet up in your new place sipping on a margarita!

that sounds like WAY too much money for a car repair if i had that kind of money i'd probably put it toward a new car. gosh, i'm so sorry denise. is it possible to go without your car and share Josh's for awhile?

I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles! I hope you can convince the warranty people to pay for it. I agree with neese, that's huge for a car repair!

Oh man that's so not what you need right before a big move. I'll cross my fingers that you hear good news back from the warranty people!!!

I'm with Neese. Given the age of the car and cost of repair, putting a down payment on a newer and more reliable model might be a better option. Then again, all of this happening during a big move throws quite the curve.

I'm never buying spark plugs again!

Wow, that really, really sucks. I'd definitely be talking to someone with regards to those spark plugs...and I'm sorry, but seems like something an extended warranty should cover...otherwise why buy them? Oh yeah, for money up front that they don't have to cover cause they can say x or y is what caused it and hey, we still got your money...

Is it worth it to fix the car? For that price, you could put a down payment on another car. Or buy a used one.
