The good, the bad, and the REALLY ugly

Well, my weekend with Josh is complete. Now I just have to wait three days before he returns again to help with the big move. I am going to keep this post very simple and to the point. No excessive details. Right now, I am about to take a much needed nap - called in sick today (more about that later in the post) - before my ex arrives home to help me finish up all of the packing I need to do. 1. BAD: My car breaks down and DIES within two hours of picking up Josh at the airport on Saturday. GOOD: The dealership is looking at it right now and working on fixing it before the big move. They gave me a nice car to use until I get my car back. VERY UGLY: So far, they found that my starter needs to be replaces - along with my battery since I killed it trying to restart my car. On top of that, a spark plug I had replaced almost a year ago broke in HALF and lodged itself inside of the engine possibly causing A LOT of damage to it (and the $600+ might not be covered under my extended warranty. PRAYING to the car GODS!) Plus I spent over $130 for the car to be towed. 2. GOOD: We had a great time with my kids on Sunday. They seemed to respond very well to Josh and like him a lot. Three hours at the Park at MOA passed by very quickly. Then we had a great night with Danielle and her friend. BAD: We return to Josh's hotel room that we are staying at and found out that both his network card for his laptop and my iPod nano stolen out of the hotel room. We were up until 3 AM getting the issue resolved. GOOD: More information on that on Josh's blog, which should be posted later tonight or tommorow. He had more information on what happened since I was downstairs in the lobby on his laptop with the replacement card he got that day. Plus we switched hotels to something MUCH nicer (but could not fully enjoy.) 3. GOOD: Several of the law school co-workers put together a nice going away party for me at the bar across from work. Yes, alcohol was involved....and yes, I called a few people or answered the phone while under the influence....one of them being my ex. **tee-hee** BAD: I spent about over HALF of the time at the bar in the bathroom with the assistance of my co-workers and coordinating with Josh to get me quickly back the hotel room where I spent more time in the bathroom. It was LONGEST car ride EVER! I also broke my 11 year streak of having non-bathroom related events after drinking. (Next my bachelorette party...and that's whole another story!) Plus Josh missed ANOTHER opportunity to meet my mom that night too and had to explain to her what happened to me on my cell phone. UGH! GOOD: I am starting to feel a little more human now....and now explains WHY I am home from work instead of being there. 4 days before the big move. I can not wait to get this WHOLE, damn thing over with. I think our karma is better in Chicago than being stuck here in the Twin Cities. But I have to thank my sweetie to get me through this weekend. Pictures will be posted tommorow or Thursday after I work on finishing up my packing.

I'll post the rest of the Super 8 Motel story on my blog tonight when I'm at work.  Also look for our story on "COPS: Roseville!"

Thanks for a nice weekend.  Despite all our bad luck, I had a great time.

See you Friday!

Sorry about all the crap at the Super 8. That sux.

Ahhhh yes, drunk dialing. It's a good time in a bottle (or a glass, or a can....)

Don't drink so much and raise living hell with the hotel chain. They typically do not tolerate theft at all.

I usually stay in Hilton or Embassy suites. It helps with the theft issues.

Sounds like the whole weekend with Josh was great. Minus the whole getting robbed part. I read all about it on his blog.

Good luck as the big move gets closer

Oh my goodness girl! I just read Josh's recap on the Super 8. I am glad that you are finding some "good" along with the bad! Sorry that I did not call you the other night.. I am really sick, as I think you can imagine.

Well, hopefully things will settle down and get normal after your move. I've never had anything stolen out of a hotel -- now I'll be paranoid!

My parents had their cell phone stolen from a Super 8. I should have warned you! Hope the car costs end up either reasonable and/or covered by the warranty. Seems the spark plug was someone else's error.

Good luck with the upcoming move. No more drunken going away parties until then....

When it rains, it pours! Sorry about your streak of bad luck, but glad you have some good stuff happening in your life. It's nice that your kids like Josh. Good luck with your move.

Count your blessings - someone got shot in Roseville today or yesterday. I had no idea it was some sort of crime capital.

So very sorry about your car. I think what happened is referred to a 'sucking a piston' and it's not good. I blew the rings in my car once and it was similarly not good. You might want to look for a rebuilt engine instead of having this one rebuilt. Might be cheaper. That or have it towed off a cliff so you can get the insurance to pay for it. So sorry. Cars suck.

Here's to a new adventure in the next chapter in your life! One that starts with 'It was a beautiful day and everything was perfect."
