Feeling like I am being BURNED....

...and I am sick and tired of it. I am getting burned by my employer (who I will remain anonymous at this time). I work hard for what I do and feel that I am not getting fairly compensated for it. Our department heads finally listened out complains about the pay rate and how they are lower to industry standard in the campus security field. Well, there was a catch in order to get the raise. It was based on your previous performance review in July. We received a slight raise after our last review. But you still have to meet the performance standards from the July review even though we just received our halfway review last month. When I received my last review, I was in the middle of transition from moving to a new campus and still getting used to the new area. My confidence took a little hit when I transferred and took a drive afterwards too. But instead of moping about it, I worked hard to turn it around and proved myself at the same time. I found my place within the group within a month after the review. I also received an awesome letter of condemnation from something great I did in November that was three pages in length. I do not even get a cost of living pay increase, if not the raise. Well, this turn in events have really inspired me to kick up my job search and get out of the company that I working for. I know that I can do better and willing to work hard on it. If my personal life is any sign for, I know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I forgot to blog about this, but I was able to get to the gym yesterday and spend 30 minutes on the recumbant bike. I know that I kicked ass on it and worked hard. I also did my leg muscle exercises and worked on the areas that need to strengthened. I also was able to get 32 push-ups in within a minutes, which I hope to increase as time goes on. Hopefully I get into the gym either tommorow or Thursday as well as on Friday before I head to Chicago for my weekend visit with Josh. 3 more work days before I fly out on Saturday morning. (It's not like I am counting the days before I leave. Right?!) Well, time to get back to writing a little bit of a 2,000-2,500 word paper that's needs to be finished before my weekend getaway. I am SO glad that it's ABOVE zero today. HEAT WAVE...bring out the shorts. LOL!

Work can be frustrating, so I understand. Good job on the bike workout though!

Work and bosses can really put a wrench into things sometimes. Here's hoping you can find something else very soon.

Also, as for balmy weather, it actually reached double digits (above zero) today! Break out the shorts indeed. :)

WTG on the workout, but a much bigger WTG on your desire to seek out a better work situation. You are worth it.
