Oh no, It's back.....

....for a second time. It's....it's.....PRE-RACE ANXIETY!! UGHHHHHHHH! It's RIGHT on schedule like last year. Running Jayhawk and I were blogging about this on MySpace.com when both of us were heading to P.F. Chang's last year. This year, it's just me that's making the return to P.F. Chang's 'cept I will be doing the half-marathon. I wish it would GO AWAY...NOW! GODDAMIT! I have called a member of my support squad and he has responded...even under the influence of alcohol from his 17 bar crawl trip. Now I just have to try to get through this on my own. 7 days until RACE DAY! Today I did my LAST LONG RUN on the treadmill. My legs feel good and loose...THANK GOD! Now I have 5 days of trying to get last minute packing and supply purchases done before I leave for Phoenix Friday morning. I also have to learn to BREATHE.....and BREATHE some more through this. **sigh** Today's work-out 4 mile - Treadmill run 49:47 497 calories burned 12:26/mile - a little faster treadmill pace

Oh, Denise! I KNOW you will do just fine! I can only imagine the anxious feeling you are having right now! Oooh! Great job on the run!

You are going to be awesome. Not to worry. A little anxiety will make everything that much more exciting. 13.1 is right in your wheel house, so to speak. Because ya R-O-C-K!

Happens to me too, before every big race. Luckily it goes away about ten steps into the race itself. But you've done your homework, you're ready. Go get em!

We all get it...just relax, breath in, breath out and trust your training!!

Your legs feel good and loose, you are READY, Denise!

Add up all the miles you've run and trained over the last, say, 5 months, and THEN tell me you are not ready.

I am so excited for you! I would be a little nervous, too, but think of it as more of a stage-fright nervous, in that you know your lines, you've rehearsed so darn much and now you are ready to SHOW WHAT YOU CAN DO!

Race anxiety is to be expected. I have heard it improves performance. You will do a great job!

You'll be fine. You've put in all the work, now enjoy yourself. :)

I'm always super nervous a few days before, but the morning OF the race I am overcome by a strange sense of calm. It's pretty amazing.

Good luck!

Just like everyone else, I get very nervous as well before races. But, you'll do great. Just put one foot on front of the other and before you know it, you'll be at the finish line!

Race anxiety proves that you have a respect for the distance and you will do fine. It's would be worrisome if you didn't have it

Don't sweat it, Denise. Go out there and have a blast in AZ. I'll be rooting for you!
