Last night's fun and today's cross-training

Well, first of all, I am glad to see amused with the sideways pic of me and my cat. She WAS cooperating to have the picture taken, but saw the camera and ran off my lap. Cats are SO camera shy sometimes. :D Anyways, yesterday was a MUCH NEEDED rest day after my quads and calves were very sore. The ankle was fine, but everything else was not. They are still a little tight, but after a few days of cross-training, I should be fine. My next long run is scheduled for Saturday morning. I definitely will be there with bells. I also FINALLY had my much long-waited dinner date with my friend and Red Wings fan (I forgive him for that little fault..hehehe!), Chris, which stemmed from the two games - one on 9/21 and the other on 9/26) We had dinner at P.F. Chang's (How cool!). It involved a little bit of alcohol consuming too. (Ok...lots of it - 2 BIG mai-tai's = BIG headache later) We talked sports (as usual), both of our jobs, our travel plans over the next few months, the upcoming marathon, and my personal issues right now. It has been YEARS since we have seen each other. Both of us have been very busy in our lives, but we talk via Yahoo IM once a month (Thank GOD for technology!) We also talked about setting up another bet for the next three more games in January......tee-hee! When I got home from dinner, my main beverage of choice was WATER....and nothing else. I woke up fine after being up until almost 2 a.m. again. I was a little bit tired, but no more headache. After breakfast, I headed to the gym from some cross-training before going to work. Tommorow's my husband's birthday. I also have to be up to work during the day shift instead of the evening shift due to a safety training class involved with the Minneapolis Police Department. Rest day again tommorow until Thursday's cross-training day. Today's work-out 40 minutes - Eliptical machine 4.18 miles 476 calories burned 9:34/mile - YES...keep it up for Saturday's run!

Congratulations on your workout and alcohol cross-training.

Lots going on in your world these days.  Fortunately you have your cats to keep you balanced.

How spicy would you like your Chang sauce?

Nice workout, Denise! It's great that you have such good friends to support you. I like a good drink to help unwind. My problem is knowing when to quit ;-) Seems lately I just can't drink that much. Wonder why that is? :-) Have a great week!! Glad the body parts are all coming together, at least grudgingly...

I too had a few beverages and long discussion with a friend last night; helpful, isn't it?

It's nice to catch up again with old friends...Mai Tai's huh...I love them...but only 2...I must have high tolerance considering all the beers I drank last Friday!! No more of that for a while. Rest is good, but so is working out. I'm torn on which I prefer!

Happy Bday to your husband. Are you enjoying this nice weather we're having? Might me another winter with no skating on Lake of the Isles.

I love getting together with old friends like that. It really sets you up for a super evening, even if it's followed by a bit of a hangover. Right? Hope today's birthday celebration is a little lighter on the boozy beverages.

Wondering if you could help me with something! I switched over to Blogger Beta and now when I type in my blog address, it's not there! I am able to write posts and view other posts, but am not able to SEE my site?!?! What should I do?
