6 mile done today....and heading to CHI-TOWN tommorow!!!

It has been VERY booooooooring at work. We have the campus closed on Tuesday, Friday AND tonight. On Wednesday and Thursday, when the campus was open, it was SO damn DEAD. I could hear a pin drop literately (I tested it out myself in the spite of boredom.) I was able to get the pre-race plans done. I was able to revamp my MySpace.com page and even work on a friend's page too on Friday night. I have NO homework to work on. I needed to save most of my reading until Sunday morning and next Wednesday when I sit in the airport both ways (if I am not on my cell phone.)
Fast forward to today, after being VERY damn lazy the last two days, I finally get my ass out of bed this morning to get 6 miles in on the treadmill. It was not easy because I did not eat that well yesterday after selecting a really icky oriental noodle dish that I had at home. I struggled on the treadmill as I approached the midway point of my treadmill. I ended up calling the support squad, who were able to send some inspiration to me. I was able to finish the session on a high note before cooling down and stretching.
I did get the rest of my packing done - 'cept for some clothes that needed to washed before they could be packed - today after the treadmill run. I am heading out on a mid-morning flight to Chicago. I will be met by Josh at the airport when my flight arrives. We will meet with Barb, Mike, Leah and Jason later in the evening for New Year's Eve festivities. It is going to be awesome!
This is HUGE contrast to last New Year's Eve. I was working a 12 hour shift until 3 a.m. (and assisted in dispatching police and medics about 8 minutes after midnight to deal with a very drunk female - not even one of our students - who was attempting to drive away in her MOM's vehicle and assaulted two of our officers in the process - will explain more, if you ask) since I was the rookie at the time. This will be a MUCH better New Year's experience....FOR SURE! I will not able to post while I am gone, but will submit a photo post or two or three from my cell phone while I am there. Oh...good times!!
Like my previous post stated, I still have several miles of the half-marathon route to cover with MUSIC. PLEASE keep them coming! I need all of the inspiration I can.
Anyways.....
