Trip to Colorado - Part 3

After the tour, I walked into the gift shop and purchased some souvenirs for the kids and the hubby. Then I walked to the corner to catch bus back to my hotel. I managed to return to the hotel by 3:30. When my friend returned to my hotel at 6:30, we headed out to dinner at my favorite resturant, Black Eyed Pea. I was so hungry for the Chicken fried Chicken and the mashed potatoes (Note to runners: I do not recommend eating this during marathon training.) because it has been SO long since I have had it. Yummmm! After dinner, we walked around the mall for a little bit while talking. Then he took me up to my favorite lookout spot, which you can see the entire city in lights from there. It's breathtaking! Then we headed back to my room while this Firefly had a little bit too much of the alcoholic beverages while we had our little "bitch fest" about the opposite sex, which caused the room to spin. I totally recommend that! **grin** The next morning - feeling perfectly fine and with NO headache, I woke up and packed up my hotel room and headed for breakfast before heading to the airport. Right before we made it to Perkins, I suggested heading to the ol' high school to take some pictures there. We did that - thus explains yesterday's post. Once again, I felt so much at home....do not want to leave. I wanted to leave kicking screaming. **sigh** It was very hard to walk into the airport. Just he left and I walked into the airport, we took one last picture along back of his car. I walked into the airport and stopped by the window - watching my friend drive away....and crying. Now I have to go home...for sure. I wish I could have done the kicking and screaming. Damn! Then I head to the NWA ticket counter, which was VERY quick because of the non-existant line. The line for the security checkpoint was non-existant, which was all the way to the back toward the escalators on Friday. I sat the airport and did my homework until we boarded the airplane. Then I headed home. Today I took it easy, do some cross-training, headed to the chiropractor, and spent time with the kids. Tommorow's back to reality for me - work and back to running 2-3 easy miles. Today's work-out 30 minutes - Eliptical machine 2.52 miles 273 calories burned 11:54/mile - oh ick!

I don't blame you for wanting to avoid any M states. Move to another state and you will run faster.

Great trip, it sounds like fun!

Sounds like a good trip...sometimes it's nice to get away for a little while.
