The ankle saga continues.....

....and it sort of does not look good. Well, the doctor did not think I needed to see a PT...yet. **sigh** But I have to put that damn aircast back on....for another two weeks. UGHHHHH! But I can run with it on. (I gave the doc a "WTF?!" look when she said that.) After picking on my ankle, she believes that I REALLY stretched the tendon/ligaments ALOT (no S***!), which may take a little bit longer to heal. But she thinks I should continue the plan I already have...and NOT to push it when I am not ready. She did tell me if the issues continue, then contact and she will refer to a PT. I do not want to get that point...period. It would mean giving up on the marathon. HELL NO! After I left the doctor's office, I decided to continue making this a rest day and just head home after making a stop at Target for cotton socks to wear with the aircast. (The ones that I have been using were giving me this HUGE rash that I JUST got over this weekend. **sigh**) Once home, I decided to take some time to clean out my cupboards of canned goods that I wanted to give at work during a friendly competition between the law students and the faculty/staff. Well, I ended up giving 33 items towards the food drive. It gave a HUGE jump for the faculty/staff. Whooohoo! Well, tommorow and Friday will cross-training days. Hopefully the sun will come out and FINALLY make a visit. BTW, 60 DAYS before P.F. Chang's.....OMG!!!

That sounds like lunacy to run with an aircast. Kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it? I've torn tendons in my foot and I know the pain you're enduring. Stay positive, and stay up with the cross-training. Right now it may be your best friend.

I ditto Annes comment...that is kinda wacky that they are telling you to wear the cast AND its okay to run...but then I guess that's why I'm an accountant and not a doctor.

Keep your chin up! I know where you've been and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I promise!

I'm so sorry to hear that your ankle is still giving you problems. I hope you get better soon.

A food drive competition between faculty/staff and students? This just doesn't seem fair. You have real jobs and can afford to donate much more than poor college students. Trust me, I am one.

Laurie, it was all in fun. The students were ahead of the faculty on Tuesday...by 2. Who knows?! Maybe they woke up and dug through the cabinets too. It's for a good cause...and the prize of CANDY. :D
