You TAKE THAT, Detroit!!

Yes, my beloved Twins FINALLY sent a BEATING to Detroit today after sustain a 0-11 record against them this year. Way to go, Twins!! Anyway, well it's DAY 6 for Operation: Husband SICK! and yes, he's STILL sick. He's coughing up mucus and crap - especially at 4:30 a.m. when I am trying to sleep. I was able to crawl out of bed at 9:15 this morning to get ready for a run. The weather was WONDERFUL this morning. I felt like I was rushed to get out for a run. The breeze from the lake made it more enjoyable. I had some shin splints and slight IT band today - UGH! - but was able to push through them and rewarded my legs with ice and LOTS of stretching when I got home. I did not care about speed today because I have one 5K under my belt and another one coming up on Saturday. After my run, I made a trip to Marathon Sports, on the advise of Dani. I wished I went there sooner. They had the Gu that I have been looking, but did not have my IB band wrap that I had been looking for. Pooh! Plus I was able to get everything with a 20% discount because I am associated with TNT. **grin** Since I did not find my IB band wrap, I made a nice trip to the Running store, who I KNEW had what I was looking for. I was able to find it - with $2.00 LESS than everyone else - and the LOST flavors of Sport Beans ***BIG grin***, Berry Blue and Fruit Punch. When I was heading home, I tried the Berry Blue. VERY GOOD!! I was reading the package for my IT band and the causes of ITBS. I have TWO of the BIGGIE causes: Overpronation and Leg Length Discrpepency (YUP!). It hit it RIGHT on the ringer. I hope the wrap helps on Saturday when I do my next 5K. Tommorow's going to early cross-training. Thursday and Friday are up in the air right now - looking like a rest day - maybe! BTW, before I forget, I got a VERY nice $10 gift certificate from a neighborhood Uptown bistro in my goodie bag. The best goodie I have EVER seen. Today's Work-out 3 mi run 34:16 11:25/mile

I kind of want to try the sports beans, but I've always been a bit leary of them....afraid they'll taste nasty....but if the blue ones are good maybe i'll give those a shot

i agree, $10 GC is BIG for a race packet! I've always said they should make those packets more like what the stars get in their gift bags at the oscars, emmy's etc. how sweet would that be?

good luck on your upcoming 5k!, and oh your poor hubby...i hope he's better real soon!

This was not the first time the Twins beat Detroit this year. They also beat them in early May (twice) and late July.
