Treadmill Thursday

I was planning on a VERY nice day to go run OUTSIDE. But I think that Mother Nature's got other things in mind. When I woke up at 8:30 this morning, I checked the local radar since the sky was VERY cloudy, which showed heavy rain heading toward my running area. But it also showed that it should only be around for about 30-45 minutes. That's okay because I need to prep my lungs and eat some breakfast before going out. I checked again after 30 minutes - heavy still in the area with possible lightning. DARN! I guess the treadmill will be used today. I then drove the gym and worked out on the treadmill. I warmed up at 13:20/mile pace for 5 minutes, then I worked my way up to the 12:15/mile pace. It was a very comfortable pace and stuck with it for the rest of the work-out. Then I cooled down for 3 minutes on the treadmill and 5 more minutes on the running track before stretching out. I headed home, showered, ate lunch, and headed out to the chiropractor for an adjustment. The adjustment felt really good. I headed home to pick up my husband before heading to work. I thank fellow P.F. Chang's R-N-R Arizona runners who will participating. I would love to hear from those are either doing the FULL marathon or just the half. It doesn't matter. We are all getting ready for an awesome event. It will be my 2nd trip to AZ, which I am really looking forward to. I have not set a goal time yet, but considering between 4:45 to 5:30 - just need to see how well I do in the longer runs. Keep responding. Once I get a good amount of people who have responded, I will modifying my blog page to listing fellow RBF members who will participating in January. Maybe we can have a get-together on the Friday afternoon or evening before the race. Today's Work-out 3 mile run - Treadmill 36:54 12:18/mile 333 calories

Your a better person for doing the dreadmill under the adverse conditions. I hope you have a good time meeting the RBF's at the race. Always fun thing to do!

At least you went and put your mile sin on the treadmill. Some days like that, I end up skipping my workout because I avoid that treadmill like the plague.

BTW, your gym has an indoor track? I would love running on that way more than the treadmill.

I'm telling you, get up early, then it's just rain to deal with!! Running in the rain is glorious!! I'm looking forward to slogging through 22 miles tomorrow in it...OK, maybe not if it's a downpour, but a light rain occasionally during it will be Ok!! At least you have the treadmill to fall back on though.

It's good that you made the decision to do your training on a treadmill. Many people would have just bagged the whole training day because of the rain.

Keep working.

Stay tuned...

Nice job transitioning from the great out doors to the treadmill. I probably would have just crawled back into bed...I have to change my frame of mind!!
