I set a PR today!!

Yes, you read it right. I was able to set another PR for my 3 mile run today....and the weather was VERY nice today. Better yet, I got my 3rd run in this week - a major milestone since my last marathon training. I was able to get up at 9:30 - 30 minutes later than I planned, but that's okay. The rain did not get out of the area until around that time so it was PRRRRRR-FECT! After prepping my lungs, eat breakfast, and get dressed. I saw on one of the bank thermometer that it was 66 degree still. YAYYYYYYY! YAHHOOOO! Plus it was already starting to get really sunny and BEAUTIFUL out. A perfect Firefly run today. I could not ask for anything more. I was so motivated last night to get out today because all of the rain and the cold front that finally went through giving us a lot of relief. We had a few tornados that went through the SW part of the state, but that's okay. This is wonderful. Note to the Chicago folks: It's heading YOUR WAY. Hang on and get ready to ride the relief train. CHOO-CHOO! Get ready to get DRENCHED! Well, I decided to head to my beloved Lake Calhoun. I knew the lake breezes would feel SO good. I stretched before I went out so my IT band would behave. I took one last sip of my Powerade and locked my car. There was very light traffic around the lake. Me like ALOT! I start off on a warm-up pace. As I got more comfortable, I sped up a bit to a very comfortable level. The run felt really good 'cept for the really hot and fully sunny places around the lake - without the nice breeze. It felt really warm with the sun beating down on me. I pressed on. When I made the 1st mile mark, I looked at my watch - 11:52. Cool! I made a quick water stop at mile 1.8, which helped bounce even more back. Like other runs, I kept my focus on the beach where I would finish. As I reached the last 0.2 miles, I pushed a little harder until I reached my finish. Once I reached my mile 3 marker, I clicked on the stop button and looked down - 33:19!! WOW! I had to double check my other blogs, but I indeed have set a new PR for my 3 mile run. I felt good. When I finished my run, I cooled down by walking and then stretching. Once I was done, I headed for a recovery smoothie and shopping for my running supplies like bars and sport drink. I then heading home to get ready for work. Tommorow's a cross-training day with Friday being a rest day, which I will need big time. Saturday's still up in the air with it being a cross-training day or not. It all depends. I really need to a weight-training workout this week still so it's looking like it will be good day for that. Today's work-out. 3 miles - running 33:19 11:06/mile - ALMOST sub-11...so close!

Good job!
You are great at getting all the various forms of training done. I still tend to skip my x-training days.
