I DID it again - another PR!!

Me thinking deeply before the 5K. My big finish!! Yes, I set another PR today during the 5K. The weather was PERFECT and a lot of breezes too. I am completely amazing myself each race. But I think my lungs did not like how I slightly pushed myself. I finished at 31:32 - 1 minute 8 seconds FASTER than Sunday. I also came in 4th in my age catagory. I missed a medal by a little more than a minute. There was A LOT of hills on this course - more than I was used, but I pushed through them. WOW! The new IT bands worked really good during the race. I have go hit the bed for a long nap. I have work at a detail overnight so I really need my sleep - plus rest the hip too. Tommorow's a rest day since I will up until 7 am tommorow morning. Monday's cross-training. I would LOVE to get a run in too, but I will NOT push it if I need to. Splits Mile 1 - 9:15 (going downhill) Mile 2 - 10:25 Mile 3.1 - 12:52 (LOTS of the hills) Today's work-out 5K race 31:32 10:08/mile - WOOOHOO! Almost sub-10! Posted by Picasa

Congratulations on both of your recent PRs! That's awesome to PR again so quickly! My lungs aren't usually happy with me after 5Ks either.

If someone else has mentioned this, I apologize because I'm always late - have you tried a foam roller or The Stick (www.thestick.com) to massage your IT bands? I've had terrible ITB issues over the last 2 years, but haven't (yet) had any problems since I started using the Stick each night.

great job! Now breaking 30 will be easy for you. get on a flat fast course and you will push through that 30 min barrier soon.

Great job on the PR...so where was this one? It kind of looks like Nokomis, but I can't think of any hills there. I need to find a good 5K to race on and officially get my sub 25...
