Start of 'Hell Week'

You may not know this, but today's the 1st day of what I will officially call "Hell Week". I will be attending 4 out of the last 5 classes as I retake to "officially" complete my Law Enforcement degree. The exam for the class is next Monday. It's also the last week for my 2nd class towards my Bachelor's degree - where I have 3 more assignments to do before Sunday. I have my hands full this week. I will need my runs this week to stay sane. Well, with that, I woke up at 7 am this morning to go to 1st of four early wake-ups to go to class. My hip felt very good with NO pain. YAYYY! I arrived a little bit before 8 am. It was a fun day - mostly review for me since I have been through the class before - of learning to deal with law breakers, etc. More of the fun is coming up for later in the week where we can kick some bad a** on Friday. After class, I headed home to change before heading the gym. I needed to get rid of my equipment so I could travel light. When I arrived at the gym, I decided to just concentrate on my cross-training on the elliptical machine. I felt really good during my work-out up until I went to stretch out. I ended up getting a HUGE cramp similar to a "charlie horse" in my mid-section muscles area. It hurt like HELL. I was just praying to get rid of the cramp. I was able to get rid of it soon enough and headed home. I quickly shower and ate my recovery meal before going to pick up my two kids. For our fun day together, we headed to the zoo. The weather was very comfortable and sunny by the time we arrived. We had a very good time seeing all of the animals. While we were looking at the sea lions, my husband reminded me of the time at the same zoo that we saw too much of Mother Nature's gift with the animals. During that time, we thought the two sea lions were helping each other swim. Ah....we were SO wrong! In fact, we were seeing an act that was missing a good Barry White song playing the background. Anyways, the rest of the night was uneventful. I just spent the night relaxing and splurged on a treat for myself. As long as the weather cooperates overnight, I will hopefully will get out for a run tomorrow. I am praying that it does. I don't want to have to use the treadmill. Today's work-out 45 minutes - elliptical machine 4.26 miles 496 calories 10:33 mile/hour pace

Wow! Hang in there this week. It will so be worth it. What great accomplishments - you should be so proud of yourself.

Hey...I went to the zoo today too with the kids I baby-sit for. Saw about 3 animals and then it was time to leave. What's with the animals sleeping all the damn time?

I love the zoo...with reference to the sea lions I'm guessing you must've been at Como? I need to get out there again...

Don't you love early starts? I was up at 5:30 this am to get my run in...ughh...

Great workout! :)

The sea lion sight must have been hilarious. You're right...all that was probably missing was the Barry White song! LOL...

Well, think on the bright side...neither child asked you out loud...What are those sea lions doing mommy? And, you weren't faced with taking a second look and then having to explain it to the amusement of all other parents present and to the astonishment and disgust of all children present. Keep on running.

Good luck on Hell Week! I'm sure you'll be just fine!

Thanks for all of your comments to my blog recently. I've appreciated it all!

Too funny about the animal behavior. I was a train ride narrator for an amusement park and on more than one occasion the animals I was talking about in the distance were doing it. Oh, the comments I'd hear from the more immature passengers....
